Blooming red shiso

First bloom

I had never seen shiso plants bloom… they bloom in September it seems

Shiso leaves are used in Japanese recipes and you can find them over your chicken yakitori skewers or as a full leaf tempura. Red shiso is also used to make red shiso juice. I got the 2 plants from a japanese farmer who grows them and sells them in Paris , every year there is a sale of Japanese plants.
